What is Sports Medicine?

Sports medicine specializes in preventing, diagnosing and treating injuries related to participating in sports or exercise. While much of what we do takes place in an exam room, our team approach begins on the fields – with athletic trainers that cover high school sports throughout the Twin Tiers.

When pain takes you out of the game and onto the bench, Guthrie sports medicine gets you back on your feet quickly. Below are some of the conditions we successfully treat on a regular basis:

  • ACL and knee injuries
  • Concussions
  • Joint sprains and pains (ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow or wrist)
  • Muscles strains
  • Neck pain
  • Plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
  • Repetitive stress injuries
  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • Sciatic pain (lower back pain, numbness, hip and knee pain)
  • Simple or stress fractures
