Healthcare Appreciation Week 2026
Guthrie is proud to celebrate our caregivers through a series of system-wide events and activities taking place this spring and continuing through our Summer of Fun. From Healthcare Appreciation Week to culture-focused storytelling and caregiver celebrations, these opportunities are designed to recognize, connect and celebrate the people who make Guthrie, Guthrie.
Healthcare Appreciation Week: System-Wide Events
Guthrie Spirit Week
This year, we are introducing a new addition to Healthcare Appreciation Week: Guthrie Spirit Week. Caregivers across the system are encouraged to participate in daily themes while ensuring all attire remains work-appropriate and aligns with required uniforms and departmental safety standards.
- Monday – Wacky Hair Day
Kick off the week with fun colors, playful styles or creative flair—keeping safety and professionalism in mind for your work area. - Tuesday – Silly Sock Day
One of the most inclusive spirit days, allowing everyone to participate. Silly socks can easily be worn under scrubs or pants. - Wednesday – Fan Day
Show your support for whatever you are a fan of—sports teams, bands or superheroes—while keeping gear work-appropriate. - Thursday – Duo Day
Pair up with a coworker and dress alike for the day. Matching outfits or coordinating colors are encouraged. - Friday – Guthrie T‑Shirt Day
Wrap up the week by wearing your favorite Guthrie gear.
Battle of the Chefs
One of Healthcare Appreciation Week’s most anticipated traditions is back. Battle of the Chefs returns at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 14, bringing friendly competition, creativity and confidence to the kitchen.
Join us in the Robert Packer Hospital cafeteria or tune in virtually on Microsoft Teams as leaders from across the system compete for the title of Guthrie’s Top Chef.
System-Wide Basket Raffle
The Healthcare Appreciation Week System-Wide Basket Raffle is back. Caregivers can participate in person at the Robert Packer Hospital cafeteria and online during Healthcare Appreciation Week.
All proceeds benefit the Mark Stensager Human Services Fund, which provides emergency assistance to caregivers and community members in need.

After Health Care Week, There’s More!
Faces of Culture at Guthrie
As part of Guthrie’s upcoming Culture Day, we are excited to launch Faces of Culture at Guthrie, a systemwide storytelling initiative that invites caregivers to share what culture, identity and belonging mean to them.
Caregivers across all roles, sites and shifts are invited to voluntarily submit a written reflection, with or without a photo, celebrating their culture, background, identity or lived experience. These stories will highlight the diverse voices that make Guthrie a place of connection and belonging—beyond a single day.
How to participate (choose what works for you):
- Photo and short reflection: One photo with a 2–4 sentence reflection (photo optional)
- Written feature: A 100–150 word story
Participants may respond to one of the provided prompts or create their own. Participation is completely voluntary, and caregivers may choose to remain anonymous.
All submissions will be entered into a raffle to win 100 AwardCo points (one winner will be selected).
- Submission deadline: Monday, May 11, 2026 (end of day)
- Submit your story: [Submit your story here]
Submitted stories will be featured on a dedicated intranet page and amplified during the week of Culture Day and beyond to showcase caregiver experiences from across the system.
