Welcome From the Program Director

I am pleased to introduce you to the Guthrie Family Medicine Residency in Sayre, Pennsylvania.  Our program was founded in 1993 and has graduated more than 100 Family Physicians since its inception. The Guthrie Family Medicine Residency supports residents and students by providing exceptional learning opportunities that prepare them to practice full-scope family medicine. We also aim to help residents foster an understanding of the unique challenges of providing health care within a rural setting.   

It is our hope that our graduates will learn skills which will help them to provide compassionate and patient-centered care as they progress into their careers. Our residency team helps to create a supportive learning environment, which allows residents to remain inquisitive and engaged through their training. Our faculty members have diverse clinical interests which provide a variety of potential learning opportunities for residents.
