Guthrie Cancer Survivors Day
June 4, 2017

Sponsored by the Guthrie Cancer Center, survivors and their families enjoyed reconnecting with the Guthrie staff who played a role in their cancer journey. Several survivors addressed the group, sharing their thoughts on what it means to be a survivor. A highlight of the afternoon was the bell ringing ceremony when each attendee rang a bell, symbolic of the bell that every patient rings upon completion of their cancer treatment.

Skin Screening Event

This free community skin screening event hosted by the Cancer Center on Guthrie’s Sayre campus screened more than 100 community members.

Guthrie’s Cancer Center attended this popular event, sharing important information about cancer services at Guthrie to hundreds who attended.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Dinner

This event featured information and updates for patients and family members about various types of blood cancers. Dr. Philip Lowry presented current information and treatment updates to the group.

Ladies Night Out
October 26, 2017

Guthrie celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a special Ladies Night Out. The free event featured representatives from several Guthrie programs, community organizations and local vendors. Activities included an “Ask the Expert” area with important information about breast health, mammograms, free skin screenings, free flu shots, blood pressure checks, weight loss assessments and information from New York and Pennsylvania agencies about free screenings. The event was made possible by a grant from Susan G. Komen Upstate New York.
