Osteopathic Medicine

Our Family Medicine program has the Osteopathic Recognition (OR) from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The Osteopathic Principles and Practice curriculum includes a focus on ambulatory osteopathic skills, but osteopathic medicine is emphasized on all rotations and inpatient services to provide our patients with the most comprehensive care possible. All Family Medicine residents are invited to take part in our Osteopathic training at Lourdes and all Osteopathic residents are required to complete the OR curriculum prior to graduation. We provide monthly didactics, Osteopathic scholarly activities and hands-on workshops. There are also two weekly OMM clinics at the continuity site, and support for OMM on the inpatient services. With our affiliation with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, we have additional support for our Osteopathic training, including videos and available grants to purchase necessary equipment/tools to enrich the OR program.
