Guthrie offers hip and knee replacement surgery at Guthrie Corning Hospital and Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. Fellowship-trained surgeons lead the joint replacement care team including surgeons, surgical technicians, anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, physical and occupational therapists, therapy technicians, nurses, clinical pharmacists, a social worker, discharge care coordinators and clinic office staff.
Guthrie developed an inpatient rehabilitation program in 1999 called Joint Camp to enhance the level of care provided to hip and knee joint replacement patients. Guthrie’s Joint Camp program focuses on group rehabilitation which builds confidence and comradery between patients experiencing the same difficulties and creates a foundation for a solid and quicker recovery. The Guthrie Joint Camp team has transferred its practices to other forms of joint replacement surgeries and strives to provide its patients with the best possible care.
