The Conformis knee replacement system, available at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, utilizes your individual CT scan data to manufacture a knee replacement implant designed specifically for you.
What does this mean for you?
- Less pain
- More stability after surgery
- Faster healing
- Long-term effectiveness
The Conformis procedure uses CT imaging to evaluate your knee joint to determine the appropriate size and shape for your implant. Your hip, knee, and ankle are also scanned to provide three points of reference for joint alignment purposes. The inside, outside, and middle curve of the knee are measured to help ensure that your implant moves as naturally as possible. Based on these measurements, Conformis manufactures the implant and develops a single-use 3-D implant kit customized for your unique anatomy. This process takes about six weeks.
