Guthrie Named One of the Nation's Most Wired Health Care Systems for Fifth Year Running

Guthrie has been recognized as one of the nation’s Most Wired hospitals, according to the results of the 2015 Most Wired Survey released by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).

This is the fifth consecutive year and the ninth time in thirteen years that Guthrie has been recognized with a Most Wired award. The survey showed that health data security and patient engagement are critical priorities for the health care systems who received this prestigious award.

Bert Robles, Guthrie’s Chief Information Officer said: “We are very proud to have been named Most Wired for the ninth time. This award reflects our commitment to creating one of the most advanced, safe and accessible systems for our patients and employees. At Guthrie, patient engagement and the security of our health data are top priorities, and we continually strive to provide state of the art, secure information services.”

The Most Wired Hospitals award is given annually by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine to the top hospitals and health systems in the country making the most progress in the adoption of health information technology.

This year marks the 17th anniversary of Health Care’s Most Wired Survey. According to the survey, hospitals are taking more aggressive privacy and security measures to protect and safeguard patient data. Top growth areas in security among this year’s Most Wired organizations include privacy audit systems, provisioning systems, data loss prevention, single sign-on and identity management.

“We commend and congratulate this year’s Most Wired hospitals and their CIOs for improving care delivery and outcomes in our nation’s hospitals through their creative and revolutionary uses of technology,” said CHIME CEO and President Russell P. Branzell, FCHIME CHCIO. “These Most Wired organizations represent excellence in IT leadership on the frontlines of healthcare transformation.”
