Guthrie is hosting a free class on healthy eating, open to the whole community. The Healthy Eating Nutrition class will run on Thursday, May 14 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Patterson Auditorium on the Guthrie Sayre campus. This class is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about making smart food choices which will support a healthier lifestyle.
The free, interactive seminar runs for two hours, and will be run by Guthrie health care professionals. Participants will learn about making healthier eating choices, and receive tips on how to make small, easy changes for a healthier lifestyle.
By the end of the session, participants will also be able to:
• Name the "Big Three" macronutrients found within food.
• Read and use the food label to compare nutritional contents of similar foods and beverages.
• Identify the five basic food groups and provide examples for each identified group.
• Describe at least two healthy changes you can make to support a lifestyle towards better nutrition.
