Guthrie Hospitals Recognize Their Volunteers

Guthrie hospitals recently celebrated National Volunteers Week across all locations. National Volunteer Week, which ran from April 23-29, honored the important role of volunteers across Guthrie with special treats, events and awards for the people who freely give their time to help others.

At Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, volunteers were treated to things like a pancake breakfast, CarTOONicatures and a Mexican fiesta luncheon. The hospital also held a Volunteer Recognition Dinner where the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Bill Miller. He has volunteered over 2,800 hours in the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Emergency Department.  Volunteers for both the hospital and Guthrie Hospice were recognized for dedicating over 32,000 hours in the past year.

Guthrie Troy Community Hospital hosted a luncheon honoring their volunteers during which Gayle Finogle was awarded Volunteer of the Year in recognition of her years of volunteering at the hospital’s gift shop. Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital Auxiliary volunteers were recognized during a luncheon that was held in their honor. A volunteer’s tea was held for the volunteers who help at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing department.
