I graduated from an LPN program in the summer of 2025. Do I meet the criteria for one year of experience?

• If you graduated before Sept. 1, 2025, and have been working full-time as an LPN at Guthrie since fall 2025, you are eligible to apply.

If I was a Guthrie-sponsored LPN student, am I able to participate in this program?

• Yes.

Excelsior University's website says only 200 hours of LPN experience are required, but Guthrie requires one year of LPN experience. Why is there a difference?

• Excelsior University's minimum requirement for enrollment is 200 clinical practice hours. Guthrie requires one year of LPN experience because of the financial commitment being made on your behalf.
• If you have completed 200 clinical practice hours but do not yet have one year of LPN experience, you may enroll in Excelsior University's program. However, you are not eligible for the Last Dollar In Program.
• In this situation, you may be eligible for Guthrie's Tuition Reimbursement Program.

Am I required to work while enrolled in this program?

• Yes. Guthrie requires you to be employed in a full-time LPN position at the time of application and throughout the program.
• Excelsior University also requires that you work in a clinical, patient-facing LPN position at the time of application and throughout the program.

I am already enrolled in Excelsior University's LPN-to-RN program. Am I eligible for the Last Dollar In Program?

• The Last Dollar In Program is available only to new students.
• Current students may be eligible for Guthrie's Tuition Reimbursement Program.

What costs might I be responsible for if I enroll in this program?

• The program is designed for Guthrie to pay up to $30,000 in tuition costs after all eligible financial aid and scholarships have been applied to your account.
• You are required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year you are enrolled in the program.
• You may use any form of financial aid (ex: grants, scholarships, etc.) to reduce your costs in the program
• You are responsible for any costs that exceed the $30,000 maximum. You are also responsible for books and fees, which generally total approximately $4,000 over two years.
