Sayre, PA – The Pennsylvania Medical Society Commission on Continuing Medical Education has recertified Guthrie’s Office of Continuing Medical Education awarding the program Accreditation with Commendation for a 6-year period ending Oct. 31, 2019. Accreditation with Commendation is the highest ranking that can be achieved.
“Guthrie has a great Continuing Medical Education program, and it’s wonderful to be recognized by the Commission,” said Trish Stern, Guthrie Office of Continuing Medical Education Coordinator. “I am absolutely thrilled with this accomplishment. Gaining an Accreditation with Commendation is a laborious process, and we are very appreciative to our stakeholders and committee for creating, maintaining, and supporting such an outstanding program.”
Guthrie’s Office of Continuing Medical Education awards more than 350 hours of American Medical Association (AMA) Physician's Recognition Award (PRA) Category I Credit(s)™ annually and has been accredited through the Pennsylvania Medical Society since 1973. The accreditation process includes a lengthy application and an extensive site survey. Guthrie is one of only 63 accredited Continuing Medical Education providers in the State of Pennsylvania.
"This is our 40th year as an accredited provider and to achieve Accreditation with Commendation is fantastic for our department and organization," said Dr. Ram Sharma, Guthrie Office of Continuing Medical Education Chairman and Associate in Internal Medicine.
