The Guthrie post-concussion support group for community members who have suffered a concussion and their families will hold a meeting on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. in the 4 Blue Conference Room located on the fourth floor of the Guthrie Medical Group in Sayre, Pa.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Guest speaker Mark Goldberg is the Publisher for MomentumMedia Sports Publishing in Ithaca, N.Y.  Mr. Goldberg will talk about his son’s history of multiple concussions from hockey and the effect they have had on his son and their family. The Guide to Sports Concussions is given to every local athlete that sustains a sports concussion and is evaluated and/or treated by either a Guthrie contracted Licensed/Certified Athletic Trainer or by the Sports Medicine department at Guthrie in Sayre.

The Guthrie Post-Concussion Support Group has featured dozens of speakers who have shared their personal journeys of dealing with sports related post-concussion syndrome. The group tagline is “You’re Not Alone”.
