Guthrie is proud to announce the certification of its cardiovascular rehabilitation program at Guthrie Corning Hospital by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The program, which is based at the hospital’s HealthWorks facility in Painted Post, N.Y., was recognized for its commitment to improving the quality of life by enhancing standards of care.
Guthrie Corning Hospital’s cardiovascular rehabilitation program is designed to help people who experience a cardiac event or heart disease to recover faster, return to more full and productive lives and reduce the risk and severity of future heart disease. Guthrie’s cardiac rehabilitation team participated in an application process that requires extensive documentation of the program’s practices. AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by AACVPR and other professional societies. Each program is reviewed by the AACVPR Program Certification Committee and Certification is awarded by the AACVPR Board of Directors.
Guthrie HealthWorks Wellness and Fitness Center was developed to promote wellness, health education, clinical rehabilitation services and fitness opportunities for the people in Guthrie’s communities. This advanced facility provides 45,000 square feet of space where individuals, with guidance and coaching from HealthWorks’ professional staff, can reach their personal goals, including disease management, fitness conditioning, and injury recovery.
AACVPR-certified programs are recognized as leaders in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation because they offer the most advanced practices available. AACVPR Program Certification is valid for three years.
