Guthrie Clinic CEO to Named to National List of Health System Leaders

Sayre, PA - Joseph A. Scopelliti, MD, President and CEO of the Guthrie Clinic has been invited to speak to the Hospital and Physician Relations Executive Summit later this month in Arizona.

The summit is sponsored by the Forum for Healthcare Strategists and is an educational event for healthcare executives to explore the complex relationships between healthcare organizations and physicians. The invitation arose from Dr. Scopelliti's appearance at another national conference for Becker's Hospital Review at which he addressed the topic of Accountable Care Organizations (ACO).

In addition, Dr. Scopelliti was named to Becker's annual list of “291 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.” According to the publication, which is geared toward health care CEOs and CFOs, “These men and women help lead prominent institutions and are actively involved in American healthcare beyond the walls of their hospitals.” The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team used several resources to develop this list, including nominations, prior Becker's Hospital Review lists and input from industry experts.

Dr. Scopelliti is a practicing gastroenterologist and has been with the Guthrie Clinic since 1984. He became Clinic President in 2005.
