Guthrie is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph T. Sawyer, Jr., MBA, FACHE, to the position of President, Robert Packer Hospital. Sawyer has been with Guthrie for 12 years.

Joe has served in several positions of increasing responsibility and has demonstrated significant leadership, which will serve him well as he steps up to lead Robert Packer Hospital.”
Sawyer assumes his new role immediately. “I am humbled by the confidence placed in me and honored to be part of the rich history of Guthrie and Robert Packer Hospital,” he said. “In this new role, my vision for Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital will focus on strengthening relationships, challenging the status quo, being an accountable organization, and involvement with our surrounding communities. We play a major role within our communities and the region, to provide high quality, compassionate, and connected patient centered care,” said Sawyer.
In 2006, Sawyer joined Guthrie as a Service Line Administrator in Radiology. He was promoted to Vice President, Imaging Services and Ancillary Testing; Vice President, Imaging Systems and Facility Operations, Vice President, Ancillary and Support Services and most recently served as Interim COO of Robert Packer Hospital.. He received his Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences from Florida Hospital College of Radiologic Sciences and a master’s in Business Administration from Bellevue University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.
