Guthrie's Dr. Lisa Esolen Named a "Patient Safety Expert to Know" by Becker's

The Guthrie Clinic is proud to announce that Lisa Esolen, MD., Executive Vice President, Chief Quality Officer, has been named to the 2026 list of “Patient Safety Experts to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review.  

The list recognizes Esolen and 144 other leaders at hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies committed to the delivery of safe and effective care to their patients, and who push their organizations to develop smarter processes and strive for ever-higher standards.  

Becker’s praises Esolen for creating unified standards of quality and safety, efficient clinical operations, and policies and procedures that have helped to define next-generation patient journeys across the Guthrie system. These efforts have resulted in historically low levels of hospital-acquired infections.  

Esolen has helped position Guthrie as a national leader in safety, quality and patient experience, Becker’s notes. Recent examples include an A safety rating from The Leapfrog Group for Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, and the inclusion of both Guthrie Troy Community Hospital and Guthrie Lourdes Hospital on Forbes’ inaugural list of Top Hospitals.
