Two Guthrie Hospitals Named to Forbes' "Top Hospitals 2026" List
The Guthrie Clinic is proud to announce that two Guthrie hospitals have earned recognition as Forbes Top Hospitals 2026. This first-ever listing is intended to be a resource for patients when selecting a hospital, and for hospitals and health systems seeking to measure themselves against others.
Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y. received an overall rating of four stars on the list, while Guthrie Troy Community Hospital in Troy, Pa., received an overall rating of three stars.
The list evaluates general acute care hospitals throughout the country on measures including patient outcomes, best practices, value and patient experience, while taking into account social factors that can impact health. Acute care hospitals are those that provide urgent care through their emergency departments as well as short-term care for injuries such as broken bones or burns, serious medical conditions such as heart attacks and stroke, surgical care, and childbirth.
Of the 5,400 general acute care hospitals in the country, nearly 2,600 were eligible for consideration based on Forbes’ criteria.
“This recognition is really a testament to the commitment and quality of the caregivers at these hospitals who all work to ensure the best patient outcomes possible,” said Dr. Edmund Sabanegh, President and CEO, The Guthrie Clinic. “This includes the medical and nursing personnel, of course, but also those who keep operations running smoothly, our patients fed, and our rooms, hallways and equipment clean.”
“We’re so proud to be named to Forbes’ inaugural list of Top Hospitals,” Dr. Sabanegh said. “The benchmarks it measures align perfectly with The Guthrie Clinic’s mission of providing high-quality care and experience to all the communities serve.”
