The Guthrie Sayre Turkey Trot is a USA Track and Field certified course that is flat, fast and starts and finishes at the historic Sayre Theatre.  The course follows local streets through the boroughs of Athens and Sayre.

A free Kids’ Fun Run for ages 10 and under will take place in advance of the race. The Kids’ Fun Run course starts at the Epiphany Church and finishes at the Sayre Theatre. This year an exclusive Sayre Turkey Trot cowbell will be given to each Kids’ Fun Run participant.

This year the event will offer exciting additions for participants:

  • A race shirt for all online registrants, male and female cut
  • Participants who register for and complete a race distance in both the 34th Annual Guthrie Gallop, held this past May 2018, and 12th Annual Guthrie Sayre Turkey Trot will receive an exclusive Guthrie Race Series gift.

Fundraising proceeds will benefit two wellness-related causes, The Guthrie Community Garden and the Annual Food Farm Family Festival.

The Guthrie Community Garden provides fresh produce for inpatient meals at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and patients identified at the Guthrie Weight Loss Center who have food insecurities. Beds are also available for Guthrie employees to grow fresh produce, some of which is also donated to these causes. Located on the land between the corners of Lehigh St. and N. Elmer Ave. in Sayre near the Guthrie Pediatrics building, the garden is managed by Guthrie with the support of many volunteers.

The Annual Food Farm Family Festival is a free community event that promotes healthy living in a family-friendly environment. The festival features free family fun, food samples, Farmers’ Market items on sale, community organizations and much more. Over 35 different vendors from within the community have participated in past years.
