The partial hospitalization program through Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Behavioral Health Science Center is an intensive outpatient service for adults who are struggling with mental illness but do not require inpatient psychiatric admission.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Individuals involved in the program attend four-hour group meetings of 4-8 people. The program also includes medication management, case management, and family support as needed. Average length of the program is 10 to 15 days.
The partial hospitalization program is an effective way for adult patients to actively learn and practice new coping strategies, while also being able to return home daily. A referral to the program is required.
