How is inflammatory bowel disease diagnosed?
The most definitive test for diagnosing inflammatory bowel disease is a colonoscopy. Other tests for inflammatory bowel disease can include flexible sigmoidoscopy, single balloon or push enteroscopy and wireless capsule enteroscopy. Each test allows your doctor to see the inside of the colon and small intestine. A blood test might also be used.
