Gives PGY I & II residents the opportunity to have a sustained technical operating room experience that will assist them in developing basic technical skills, as well as generating exposure to a broad variety of general surgical operative experiences.
Subspecialty Surgery Rotation
Basic and Advanced GI Endoscopy, Head and Neck Oncology, and Thoracic Surgery
Surgical Consult Rotation
Provides exposure to surgical emergencies and consultation on new patients with general, hepatobiliary, oncologic, and vascular surgical conditions
Residents are granted vacation time on an individual basis per departmental policy for time away. PGY I residents are permitted 3 weeks of vacation and PGY II-V residents are permitted 4 weeks of vacation per year. Requests for time away are accepted at any time, up to eight weeks before the desired leave.
