The Caregiver Referral program gives you the ability to earn a little extra money, while also contributing to the growth of our team members. Caregivers of Guthrie receive referral bonuses when referring an external registered nurse to Guthrie. 

 

Here’s how it works for the below positions:

Referral Bonus Program Policy

The Guthrie Clinic 

The Guthrie Clinic offers referral bonuses to assist in recruiting candidates for positions that are deemed critical to business operations or are difficult to fill.  The monetary amount of the referral bonus can vary by role and position within the organization. 

Positions eligible for referral bonuses, bonus amounts and the process for referring candidates will be communicated to employees by Human Resources when in effect. 

Guidelines 

  1. Eligible positions and referral bonus amounts are determined on a case-by-case basis. 
  2. Part-time and per diem positions are not eligible for a referral bonus.   
  3. Positions filled by a current employee or contingent worker converting to a regular position are not eligible for a referral bonus. 
  4. Employees or contingent workers who previously worked for The Guthrie Clinic within one (1) year of the application date are not eligible for a referral bonus. 
  5. All employees, except those at the Senior Leadership level, Human Resources and managers with hiring authority over the position, are eligible for a referral bonus. 
  6. The referring employee’s name must be entered on the candidate's application at the time the candidate initially applies to be eligible for a referral bonus.  Only one employee per candidate may receive a referral bonus.   
  7. Referral bonuses are typically paid in two (2) equal lump-sum payments at ninety (90) days* and one (1) year*.  Both the referring employee and the hired employee must be actively employed at the payout of the referral bonus.  The referred employee must remain in a 0.9 FTE or higher position.  
  8. Referral bonuses are subject to applicable tax withholdings.   
  9. Management reserves the right to discontinue this program at any time. 

Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the EVP, Chief Caregiver Officer or designee. 

FT Registered Nurse (RN):

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an external, experienced RN candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive a $10,000 referral bonus. “Experienced RN” is defined as an RN having 1 or more years of RN experience. For RN roles currently being offered an enhanced sign-on bonus, a $20,000 referral bonus is also offered.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The $10,000 referral bonus will be paid in two installments:

  • The first installment will be $5,000, paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $5,000 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

The $20,000 referral bonus (limited time) will be paid in two installments:

  • The first installment will be $10,000 of the bonus paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $10,000 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

FT Medical Imaging:

Caregivers of Guthrie receive up to a $20,000 referral bonus (limited time) when referring an external, full-time Medical Imaging candidate to The Guthrie Clinic. 

Here’s how it works:

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an external, full-time Medical Imaging candidate to Guthrie, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive up to a $20,000 referral bonus.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The $20,000 referral bonus (limited time) will be paid in two installments:

  • The first installment will be $10,000 of the bonus paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $10,000 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

PT Registered Nurse (RN):

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an external, experienced RN candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular part-time employee, will receive a $5,000 referral bonus. “Experienced RN” is defined as an RN having 1 or more years of RN experience.

The $5,000 bonus will be paid in two installments:

  • The first installment will be $5,000, paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $2,500 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

FT Newly Licensed Registered Nurse (NLRN):

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an external, NLRN candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive a $10,000 referral bonus.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The $10,000 referral bonus will be paid in two installments:

  • The first installment will be $5,000, paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $5,000 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

PT Newly Licensed Registered Nurse (NLRN):

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an external, NLRN candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular part-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive a $5,000 referral bonus.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The $5,000 bonus will be paid in two installments:

  • The first installment will be $5,000, paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $2,500 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

FT Medical Technologist:

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an external, Medical Technologist candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive a $10,000 referral bonus.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The $10,000 referral bonus will be paid in two installments:

  • The first installment will be $5,000, paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $5,000 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an experienced LPN candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive up to a $5,000 referral bonus. “Experienced LPN” is defined as an LPN having 1 or more years of LPN experience.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The bonus will be paid in two installments based on $5,000.

  • The first installment will be $2,500 of the bonus paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 

 

  • The final installment of $2,500 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

Respiratory Therapist (RT):

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers a Respiratory Therapist candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive up to a $10,000 referral bonus.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The bonus will be paid in two installments based on $10,000.

  • The first installment will be $5,000 of the bonus paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $5,000 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

Surgical Technician:

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers an experienced surgical technician candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive up to a $5,000 referral bonus. “Experienced surgical technician” is defined as a surgical technician having 2 years of surgical technician experience.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The bonus will be paid in two installments based on $5,000.

  • The first installment will be $2,500 of the bonus paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $2,500 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

Patient Care Partner/CNA:

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers a Patient Care Partner/CNA candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive up to a $2,500 referral bonus.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The bonus will be paid in two installments based on $2,500.

  • The first installment will be $1,250 of the bonus paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $1,250 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.

Driver Technician

Any current caregiver of Guthrie who refers a Driver Technician candidate to a The Guthrie Clinic entity, who is subsequently hired as a regular full-time employee of .9 FTE or higher, will receive up to a $1,500 referral bonus.

The external candidate must put the name of the referring employee in their application. 

The bonus will be paid in two installments based on $1,500.

  • The first installment will be $750 of the bonus paid to the referring employee 90 days post-employment. 
  • The final installment of $750 will be paid as the remainder of the bonus to the referring employee after the candidate has successfully completed year 1 of employment in a .9 FTE or higher eligible position within TGC.
