Tioga State Bank Hosts "Pink Out" and "Cure the Blue" Fundraisers to Support Guthrie Cancer Care
The Guthrie Clinic would like to thank Tioga State Bank (TSB) for leading two fundraisers in support of cancer care at Guthrie in 2025: Pink Out and Cure the Blue. Both initiatives raised critical funds for the Guthrie Cancer Care Fund, which provides direct financial assistance to cancer patients facing hardship, helping them cover essential household bills so they can focus on treatment without the burden of high costs.
During Pink Out, held throughout October, TSB pledged to donate $10 for every employee who wore pink and for each community member who posted a photo wearing pink on TSB’s social media (up to $2,500). On Oct. 24, the bank hosted a Community-Wide Pink Out, joining forces with local businesses to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer care at the Guthrie Cancer Center. Community members showed their support by visiting participating businesses, amplifying the impact of this initiative.
In November, TSB partnered with WBNG to host the No Shave November/Cure the Blue 5K. All registration proceeds were donated to the Guthrie Cancer Center and Cure the Blue, with TSB generously matching the first 100 registrations.
The event marked the ninth year TSB and WBNG worked together to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.
“We are incredibly grateful to Tioga State Bank for their continued commitment to our patients,” said Tricia Huston, Director of Guthrie Resource Development. “Through Pink Out and Cure the Blue, they have not only raised funds but also strengthened community awareness and solidarity in the fight against cancer.”
Together, these fundraisers exemplify the power of community partnerships in supporting patients and families during their most challenging times. Guthrie is proud to collaborate with Tioga State Bank in advancing hope, compassion, and care across the region.
