Stuffed Animals Welcome: Guthrie Vestal Pediatrics Hosts Teddy Bear Clinic June 19
June 8, 2026
Even the most fearless stuffed animal needs a checkup now and then. Guthrie Vestal Pediatrics invites children and their families to bring their most beloved bears, bunnies and beyond to its free Teddy Bear Clinic on Friday, June 19, from 4 to 6 p.m.
The hands-on event is designed with one goal: helping young children feel comfortable and confident at the doctor's office long before any real appointment is on the calendar. By putting a familiar face at the center of the experience, children get to see what a medical visit looks like without the worry.
From the moment they arrive, children and their chosen companions move through stations that mirror a real clinic visit. There's a check-in, a vitals station and a full teddy bear exam.
A play radiology stop gives X-ray technology its most cooperative patient yet, and the play pharmacy is the final destination — where every child picks up their bear's special prescription before heading out. Coloring, activities and more keep the fun going throughout the afternoon, and every tiny patient goes home with a goodie bag.
Admission is free, but space is limited. Families must call ahead to reserve a spot for their child's teddy bear exam — walk-ins cannot be accommodated. The event will be held at Guthrie Vestal Pediatrics, 105 Ridgehaven Drive, Vestal. To register, call 607-798-6176.
