Sayre American Legion Raises $6,200 for Veterans' Care at Guthrie

Guthrie is grateful to the Sayre American Legion Post #283 for their continued commitment to local veterans. Following their successful annual golf tournament, the Post donated $6,200 to the Guthrie Veterans Patient Assistance Fund, ensuring essential resources reach those who have served. 

The 13th annual tournament, held earlier this year at Tomaso's Golf Course, drew strong community support. Seventeen teams participated in the event, led by longtime Tournament Director Connie Roberts. Participants enjoyed good weather and supported the cause through door prizes and a silent auction. 

The Veterans Patient Assistance Fund provides relief to veteran patients by covering critical expenses like medications, medical equipment, transportation to appointments and other specialized care. This contribution helps reduce financial barriers so veterans can focus on their recovery while receiving care at Guthrie. 

Post #283 is already planning the 14th annual tournament for June 18, 2026, ensuring this tradition continues to support Guthrie's veteran patients.
