Renzi Cancer Center Receives $4K Donation from Foundation of Courage

The Renzi Cancer Center at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center is proud to announce a generous $4,000 donation from the Foundation for Courage.

The funds were raised during the fifth annual Golf for Charity Tournament held on June 7 at Walden Oaks Country Club.

Representatives from the foundation recently presented the check to the Cortland Memorial Foundation with the request that it be used for purchase of small equipment, educational and comfort items for oncology patients, staff education resources and financial assistance for cancer patients.

“We are so grateful for the friendship we have with the Foundation of Courage, and for all the folks who supported their Golf for Charity event,” said Sheila Ossit, Director of the Cortland Memorial Foundation. “What this small (but mighty) organization does to provide for our cancer patients is just amazing.”

The Foundation of Courage is a non-profit that empowers, uplifts and provides essential support for individuals in Cortland County undergoing cancer treatment. Proceeds from this year’s Golf for Charity event were raised in memory of Catherine Rutkowski Bernardo, Gloria Sonnachio and Jennifer Alexy.
