Register by June 8: Guthrie “Game Plan: Careers in Sports Medicine” Summer Workshops
High school students across the Twin Tiers and Finger Lakes have through Monday, June 8, to register for Guthrie's "Game Plan: Careers in Sports Medicine" — a full-day, immersive workshop series returning for its second year at three regional locations this summer.
Now expanded to three sites, the program offers rising high school freshmen and older students a hands-on look at the fast-paced world of sports healthcare, with sessions led by professionals in athletic training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, sports nutrition, emergency medical services and orthopedic surgery.
Students rotate through six interactive sessions taught by working professionals, with planned activities and a live suturing demonstration.
Sessions will be held at:
SUNY Broome Community College, Binghamton — Monday, June 29
SUNY Corning Community College — Friday, July 10
Tompkins Cortland Community College — Friday, July 17
All sessions run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The $50 registration fee covers breakfast, lunch, an event T-shirt and a one-week guest pass to either Guthrie Lourdes Health & Fitness in Johnson City or Guthrie HealthWorks Wellness and Fitness Center in Painted Post. Financial assistance is available; contact Zach Spencer at zachn.spencer@guthrie.org for details.
