Next Phase of Renovation at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center Begins Feb. 9

February 6, 2026

The next phase of the transformational renovation of the Emergency Department (ED) at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center is slated to begin Monday, Feb. 9. Work will focus on improving the comfort, function and flow of the waiting room and triage area.

During the work, which is expected to last until mid-summer, visitors to the ED will enter the facility through the same doors, but will have to walk just a bit further to sign in. Registration has been moved further down the entry hall, still to the right.

Cardiology patients will experience no changes.

Signage will be posted to ensure easy navigation for patients throughout this process. Important updates will be also delivered through traditional and social media.

In addition, Lab Services, which was moved to the former café space near the main entrance of Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, will remain operating in that space.
