Guiliana Kissel, Director and Chief of Staff for The Guthrie Clinic, has been named to the 2025 Becker's Hospital Review "Rising stars: Healthcare leaders under 40" list.

The prestigious national list honors the next generation of health care leadership for their dedication to driving innovation and championing better outcomes within their organizations. According to Becker's, these leaders are shaping the future of the industry by refining care delivery, improving processes and embracing change.

Joining Guthrie in 2021 as an Administrative Fellow, Kissel became Chief of Staff in 2022 and has established herself as a trusted member of the executive leadership team, where she supports Guthrie President and CEO Dr. Edmund Sabanegh in strategic decision-making and operational execution.

In her time at Guthrie, Kissel has overseen several key initiatives, including establishing a Collaborative Research Agreement with Binghamton University and securing funding for a major campus renovation that will support research and education efforts. Kissel also serves as administrator of Guthrie’s Community Benefits Committee, helping grow community grant investments from less than $15,000 in 2022 to $100,000 today.

“I am deeply grateful for this recognition, but even more grateful for the opportunity to serve Guthrie’s patients, families, and employees," Kissel said. " Every initiative I’ve been part of has been shaped by the collaboration and dedication of our teams. I’m proud to contribute to an organization so committed to improving the health and well-being of our communities.”

The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected the honorees based on nominations from across the country.
