Guthrie Sayre Turkey Trot Raises More Than $70,000 for Guthrie Cancer Care Fund
More than 1,220 runners and walkers turned their Thanksgiving morning into an act of support for cancer patients at the 19th annual Guthrie Sayre Turkey Trot, presented by the Robert Packer Hospital Auxiliary.
The Nov. 27 race raised more than $70,000. All net proceeds from the 2025 event supported the Guthrie Cancer Care Fund, which provides cancer patients receiving care at Guthrie with financial assistance for household bills.
"Each year, the Guthrie Sayre Turkey Trot demonstrates the power of this community coming together to support patients in need. Many thanks to our participants, volunteers, sponsors and our presenting sponsor, the Robert Packer Hospital Auxiliary," said Nichole VanFleet, Guthrie Special Event and Annual Giving Officer. "This year's event was a banner year for both the race and the Guthrie Cancer Care Fund. The funds raised will allow Guthrie to offer critical assistance with transportation, medications and other expenses so patients can focus on what matters most: their recovery."
