Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Recognized for Emergency Care
Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital has been recognized for improving health by the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP). The annual HAP Achievement Awards highlight projects that personify hospitals’ mission to provide high-quality care and improve their communities’ health.
The hospital received the 2024 Optimal Operations Award for its work to significantly decrease left-without-being-seen rates and wait times in the The Taylor Family Emergency Department at Robert Packer Hospital. Entries were scored on specific criteria including results, adaptability, and how the goal of advancing health equity was embedded in the initiative.
“We are thrilled to see the positive impact of our redesigned triage model program on patient outcomes for our Emergency Department," said Joseph Sawyer, President, Robert Packer Hospital. "By proactively addressing patient needs and prioritizing care delivery earlier in the visit process, we are able to deliver compassionate and effective care, not only enhancing efficiency but also ensuring that every individual receives the attention they deserve ultimately making a positive difference in their health care journey.”
HAP’s annual Achievement Awards program recognizes hospitals and health systems that are employing innovative approaches to strengthening the safety and quality of care, enhancing operations and patients’ experience, and partnering with their communities to address public health needs.
HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings said, “We are proud to announce the winners of HAP’s 2024 Achievement Awards, showcasing innovative, patient-centered projects that are making a difference in Pennsylvania. Strong health systems make strong communities and hospitals are central to our shared mission for a healthy Pennsylvania.”
