Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital Named Top 50 for Cardiovascular Care
Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital has been named one of the nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by IBM Watson HealthTM. The study spotlights the top-performing cardiovascular hospitals in the U.S. based on a balanced scorecard of publicly available clinical, operational and patient satisfaction metrics and data.
This study is part of the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® program, using independent and objective research to analyze hospital and health system performance in key clinical and operational areas for selected cardiovascular procedures and medical care.
"This is an outstanding honor that reflects the skill and dedication of our staff as they work together to continuously improve the quality of cardiac care at Guthrie," states Dr. Daniel Sporn, Guthrie Chief, Section of Cardiology. He adds, "Our team of professionals and specialists deliver first class care to our patients, and it is their dedication and commitment to excellence that has helped us achieve this honor."
Guthrie’s new Heart and Vascular Center, located at Robert Packer Hospital, was designed to offer advanced cardiac and vascular care in a patient centered environment.
The new 17,000 square foot center, unveiled in May of 2019 offers:
- Spacious cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and structural heart rooms with Philips Azurion imaging equipment, providing advanced digital image enhancement at lower dose radiation
- Universal care private rooms for patient prep and post-care recovery
- Close proximity to the Intensive Care Unit and Operating Room
- Spacious waiting area with real-time status boards that allow family to follow the progress of the patient
- Convenient street level entrance, adjacent to parking lot
“By finding ways to continuously improve and innovate, the winners of our 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals study are identifying opportunities to deliver healthcare value to patients, communities, and payers,” said Ekta Punwani, MHA, 100 Top Hospitals® program leader at IBM Watson Health. “The top performing hospitals demonstrated better clinical care and were more efficient than their peers at delivering this care.”
