Guthrie Presents Awards at Night of Champions

Guthrie was the presenting sponsor of two scholarships given during the Night of Champions awards dinner hosted by ESPN Ithaca on June 9 in Ithaca, N.Y.

Awards for Coaches of the Year were given on behalf of Guthrie to Alicia Learn, girls’ basketball coach at Watkins Glen High School and Benji Parkes, boys' soccer coach at Lansing High School. These coaches are then able to select a student from their team to receive the scholarships. Students receiving the scholarships are Taylor Kelly at Watkins Glen High School and Matthew Kirkwood at Lansing High School.

Night of Champions is an annual event that recognizes local scholar athletes in both girls’ and boys’ sports and their coaches and celebrates their achievements. The evening featured a dinner and remarks from Guthrie Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Joseph Choi.
