Guthrie Invites Community to 'Shine a Light on Lung Cancer' Event

Guthrie is bringing the community together for an evening of hope, support, and empowerment at its annual Shine a Light on Lung Cancer event in recognition of Lung Cancer Awareness Month.  The free event takes place Thursday, Nov. 6, from 5–8 p.m. at the Best Western Grand Victorian Inn in Sayre.

Guthrie is bringing the community together for an evening of hope, support, and empowerment at its annual Shine a Light on Lung Cancer event in recognition of Lung Cancer Awareness Month. 

The free event takes place Thursday, Nov. 6, from 5–8 p.m. at the Best Western Grand Victorian Inn in Sayre.

The evening includes dinner, presentations from Guthrie Oncology experts, and personal stories from lung cancer survivors. 

Presentations include: 

  • "Lung Cancer Screening and Palliative Care in Our Community" by Dr. Marcelle Meseeha and Dr. Joseph Kuruvilla 

  • "Precision Medicine in Lung Cancer" by Dr. Alina Basnet 

  • "Advances in Lung Cancer Research" by Susan Hadlock, R.N., CCRP, and Christina Finlan, BSN, R.N.
