Guthrie to Host "Shine a Light on Lung Cancer" Lung Cancer Survivor Dinner
Guthrie will host “Shine A Light on Lung Cancer” Lung Cancer Survivor Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the Best Western, 255 Spring St. in Sayre, Pa. Community members and all those affected by the disease including survivors, current patients and loved ones are invited to register for this free event.
Guthrie’s “Shine a Light on Lung Cancer” will raise awareness of lung cancer and offer hope, inspiration, support and remembrance for all those touched by the disease. The dinner features expert speakers Nathaniel McElhaney, M.D., cardiothoracic surgeon and James Walsh, M.D., M.S.H.A., F.A.C.P., F.C.C.P., pulmonologist, who will offer brief presentations which highlight advancements in lung cancer screening and treatment. A special ceremony will also take place to offer a tribute to those who have been affected by this disease.
Guthrie would also like to invite the public to register for a lung cancer pre-screening event prior to the vigil. If you have smoked for many years, you may want to think about lung cancer screening. The pre-screening event will start at 4:30 p.m.
