Guthrie Expands Access to Orthopedic and Cardiology Care at Tunkhannock Multispecialty Clinic

The Guthrie Clinic is bringing critical specialty healthcare closer to home for residents across northeast Pennsylvania with the addition of orthopedic and cardiac services at Guthrie Tunkhannock, 5950 State Route 6. 

This strategic expansion is designed to reduce the need for long-distance travel, offering local, convenient access to expert care for bone, joint and heart health. 

Orthopedic services 
Guthrie Tunkhannock offers personalized orthopedic care, including expert evaluation and management for joint pain, sports injuries and other orthopedic conditions. Patients can conveniently receive minor procedures such as injections directly onsite.

More significant outpatient procedures are performed at Guthrie Montrose Orthopedics, within the Endless Mountains Health System main campus specialty offices in Montrose, Pa., and complex and inpatient surgeries are scheduled at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y.

Joshua Wilbur, PA-C is available for appointments at Guthrie Tunkhannock every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Virtual cardiology care 
To prioritize cardiovascular health, the new site provides virtual cardiology services focused on prevention, diagnosis and ongoing management. Dr. Venugopal Thirumurti provides these services, which include heart health screenings, diagnostic testing and condition evaluation.

Cardiology appointments with Dr. Thirumurti are available on Fridays:

  • First and second Friday of the month: 8 a.m. to noon

  • Third, fourth and fifth Friday of the month: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

By combining two specialties in one strategic location, patients can often begin their full course of treatment — from initial diagnosis to ongoing management — right in Tunkhannock.
