Guthrie establishes nursing professional development fund with $50,000 gift from C&N Bank.

Guthrie nurses will have expanded access to education, certifications and career development resources through the newly established C&N Nursing Professional Development Fund — made possible by a $50,000 commitment from Wellsboro-based C&N Bank.

The fund will strengthen the nursing workforce by broadening access to certification programs and evidence-based educational opportunities. Scholarships and financial assistance will support individuals pursuing nursing degrees, while current nursing staff will benefit from expanded professional development resources.

Supported initiatives will include speaker series, webinars, tutorials and other educational offerings designed to help nurses build expertise and advance their careers.

"Strong communities rely on strong healthcare teams," said representatives from C&N. "We are honored to support the growth and success of local healthcare professionals who serve our communities every day."

“This investment is about more than supporting nursing education; it’s about empowering our nurses to grow, lead and deliver the highest level of care for our patients,” said Debra Raupers, EVP, Chief Nurse Executive, The Guthrie Clinic. “We’re grateful to C&N Bank for recognizing the vital role nurses play in strengthening the health of our communities.”

Leaders from both organizations recently gathered to commemorate the establishment of the fund.
