Guthrie Earns Six 2026 Women's Choice Awards for Clinical Excellence

Guthrie earned six 2026 Women's Choice Awards, recognizing Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and Guthrie Troy Community Hospital for excellence in patient safety, bariatric surgery, cancer care, women's services, knee and hip replacement, and emergency care. 

The Women's Choice Award identifies America's top hospitals by combining clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and women's health care preferences. 

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., was honored with five separate awards, consistently placing it among the nation's top hospitals in critical areas of specialized care: 

  • Best Hospitals for Patient Safety: Top 16% nationally across 12 CMS measures. 

  • Best Hospitals for Bariatric Surgery: Top 8% for surgical safety and outcomes. 

  • Best Hospitals for Cancer Care: Top 10% for comprehensive services and low infection rates. 

  • Best Hospitals for Women's Services: Top 8% for comprehensive care, from obstetrics to specialized services. 

  • Best Hospitals for Knee and Hip Replacement: Top 13% for surgical outcomes and orthopedic care. 

In addition to these distinctions, Guthrie Troy Community Hospital earned Best Hospitals for Emergency Care, ranking in the top 10% for speed, effectiveness and compassionate care in the emergency room setting.  

These awards reflect Guthrie's commitment to the highest care standards, which is particularly significant as women make more than 80% of family health care decisions.

The six awards underscore Guthrie's systemwide focus on reducing complications, providing specialized services and ensuring positive patient outcomes across both its tertiary and community hospital settings.
