Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Earns Prestigious Recognition for Excellence in Care

July 31, 2025

The Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is proud to announce its recent achievement of a Five-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), along with an impressive Overall Rating of Four Stars. This recognition underscores the center’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care to its residents and their families.

The CMS Five-Star Quality Rating System was designed to empower consumers, families, and caregivers by providing a clear and reliable way to compare nursing homes. Through the Nursing Home Care Compare website, facilities are evaluated and rated on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, with five stars signifying care that is well above average. Ratings are determined based on key metrics, including quality of care, staffing levels, and health inspections.

The Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s overall four-star rating and five-star quality rating place it as the highest performing nursing and rehabilitation facility in the region—a testament to its dedication to excellence.

“We take immense pride in the high level of care we provide to your loved ones and in our ongoing efforts to improve across every measure,” said Timothy Reedy, Senior Director of Long-Term Care at Guthrie Cortland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. “This recognition from CMS is not only a validation of our caregivers’ compassion and dedication but also a meaningful assurance to families that their loved ones are in the best possible hands. At Guthrie, we consider every resident a part of our extended family, and this achievement reflects that commitment.”
