The Guthrie Clinic Offers Two Lung Cancer Screening Events
The Guthrie Clinic is encouraging former and current smokers to get screened for lung cancer at one of two upcoming screening events:
- Friday, March 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N.Y.
- Thursday, April 2, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, Pa.
Lung cancer screenings are covered by most insurance and Medicare plans for those between the ages of 50 and 80 who have at least a 20 pack-year history.
A pack-year is a way to measure smoking exposure. Smoking one full pack of cigarettes daily for 20 years, or two packs daily for 10 years, would equal 20 pack-years.
