The Guthrie Clinic Announces New Regional Associate Dean for GCSOM

The Guthrie Clinic is pleased to announce that Dr. Burt Cagir has accepted the position of Regional Associate Dean for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) at Guthrie.

Dr. Cagir completed a surgical residency at NY Medical College affiliated hospitals and fellowship training in colorectal surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital/Sidney Kimmel Medical College. He joined Guthrie in 2001.

During his time at Guthrie, Dr. Cagir has served in the capacity of core faculty, Associate Program Director and most currently, as Program Director for Guthrie's General Surgery Residency. He has also served as the Executive Director of the Donald Guthrie Foundation since January 2020 and will continue in that role moving forward. He will remain as Program Director over the upcoming months while a search for this position is conducted.
