Guthrie Celebrates First Emergency Medicine Residency Graduation with High Profile Speaker
The Guthrie Clinic has a long history of providing excellent patient care and supporting outstanding medical education by recruiting physicians committed to meeting the growing needs of the region. Yesterday, Guthrie reached an important milestone as it celebrated the first graduating class of its Emergency Medicine Residency Program.
Students in the program complete rotations in the Emergency Department, where they receive hands on training by board certified/eligible emergency medicine physicians. The training these residents receive prepares them to provide excellent integrated, contemporary, and compassionate care to a diverse community.
To honor this milestone graduation, Guthrie welcomed special guest speaker, Mr. Jared Isaacman.
Mr. Isaacman is the CEO of Shift4 Payments, the leader in integrated payment processing solutions. He is an accomplished pilot, and was the commander of Inspiration4, the world’s first all-civilian mission to space.
Mr. Isaacman holds several world records, including a Speed-Around-The-World flight to raise money and awareness for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. He has flown in over 100 airshows as part of the Black Diamond Jet Team, dedicating every performance to a charitable cause. As part of Inspiration4’s public outreach, Isaacman made a personal $125 million commitment to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Mr. Isaacman is the brother of Dr. Marc Harris, Guthrie’s System Chairman of Emergency Medicine.
