Guthrie Awards $10,000 Grant to B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
Guthrie is pleased to announce a $10,000 grant awarded to the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (AAA) through its Community Benefit Grant Program.
The funding will support the AAA's Meals on Wheels program, which aims to reduce food insecurity and improve nutrition among adults aged 60 and older in Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Tioga counties.
The program provides home-delivered hot and frozen meals that meet one-third of the Recommended Daily Allowance criteria set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, including special dietary options to accommodate various health needs.
The AAA currently serves some 350 local individuals through its Meals on Wheels program. This grant will help ensure the continuation of this vital service, addressing the critical need for food access among older adults in the region.
This grant was awarded as part of Guthrie’s Community Benefit Grant Program, which funds projects based on Guthrie’s Community Health Needs Assessment.
