Guthrie Announces Change to Corning Hospital Emergency Medicine Team
Emergency medicine is particularly critical to the unique circumstances of providing care in rural communities. In the interest of providing the best possible care to patients in Corning, Guthrie is making a service change in the Emergency Department at Guthrie Corning Hospital.
Effective Oct. 1, Guthrie Corning Hospital Emergency Medicine Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers will be employed by Guthrie, replacing the service previously provided by Team Health to Guthrie Corning Hospital.
Guthrie has made extraordinary efforts to find physicians committed to serving this region through their skill and expertise in emergency medicine. The newly formed team of twelve emergency medicine physicians are all Board Eligible/Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. This mirrors the expertise available at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital.
“Our team’s subspecialty training offers our Corning Hospital patients the benefit of additional skills and knowledge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,” stated Dr. Elizabeth Linkenheil, Chief of Emergency Medicine, Guthrie Corning Hospital. “We are grateful to Dr. Charles Morrow, Team Health Medical Director, for his dedicated service to the Corning community for nearly 30 years and are committed to providing the best quality emergency medicine across the region.”
