The Frosty Caboose Offers Tasty Summer Treat in Support of Cortland Memorial Foundation's Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund

The Frosty Caboose and Guthrie partner for the most delicious and cool way to round out the summer season, while helping out those fighting cancer. Beginning Saturday, August 3, The Frosty Caboose will offer the Guthrie Great Sundae, an original creation featuring Perry’s Lemon Chillo ice cream with blueberry topping.

The Frosty Caboose owner Dick Brecht is generously donating 100% of all Guthrie Great Sundae sales to Cortland Memorial Foundation’s Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund. And it doesn’t stop there. 10% of all sales at The Frosty Caboose on Tuesdays and Fridays will also be donated to the Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund. This fundraiser runs through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.

“Having lost both of my grandparents and my mom to cancer, the Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund’s purpose really means a lot to me,” said Brecht. “Fighting cancer shouldn’t come down to money, but more often than we would like to believe, it does. After learning more about what the Cancer Care Fund does for patients in our community, I'm grateful to be in a position to work with the great people at Cortland Memorial Foundation and Guthrie to help whoever needs it.”

Cortland Memorial Foundation and The Renzi Cancer Center at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center are grateful for this incredible generosity. We invite everyone in the community to support the Frosty Caboose, and in doing so, support the patients at the Renzi Cancer Center.

“We are so GREAT-FUL to our Great Guthrie neighbors, Dick Brecht, and everyone at The Frosty Caboose, for the Guthrie Great Sundae Promotion,” said Sheila Ossit, Cortland Memorial Foundation Director. “I’m hoping to be first in line for a sundae and hope the community will come out for a Guthrie Great Sundae, too. The Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund is used for small equipment purchases, as well as educational and comfort items for our oncology patients, so it’s all for a GREAT cause.”
