Community Tees Up Support for Guthrie Cortland Medical Center, Raising More Than $69,000

The Cortland Memorial Foundation's 22nd annual Golf Classic was a major success, raising more than $69,000 to support patient care at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.

The Cortland Memorial Foundation's 22nd annual Golf Classic was a major success, raising more than $69,000 to support patient care at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.

The event, held Aug. 11 at the Cortland Country Club, brought together 64 golfers and community supporters for a day dedicated to advancing local health care.

Proceeds from the tournament will directly fund the purchase of advanced medical equipment and support programs that enhance patient care, promote health education and improve the quality of life in the region.

"This well-loved tradition is our largest fundraiser, and I am so grateful for our generous sponsors and the many volunteers who help to make this event such a success," said Sheila Ossit, Director of the Cortland Memorial Foundation. "The medical center partners with many businesses and organizations that enable us to provide the best care possible for our patients at Guthrie Cortland."

Since its inception in 2004, the CMF Golf Classic has become a cornerstone of community support for the hospital, raising nearly $1.5 million for vital programs and initiatives.

The Foundation extends its gratitude to the top corporate sponsors: Kinney Drugs Foundation/Health Direct/Noble Health Services, McNeil Development Company LLC, MRB Group, Strategic Financial Services Inc., US Acute Care Solutions, Welliver and Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP.

Foundation Board Chair Bradley Totman emceed the event. He was joined by fellow CMF board members Marisa Clifford, DMD, Rex Gido, MD, Steve Wineburg, Mary Ellen Bloodgood and Marie Darling.

The 23rd annual Cortland Memorial Foundation Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 10, 2026.
