There’s No Place Like Home for Healing

At Guthrie, our goal is to provide our patients the right care, at the right time, at the right location. For many patients, the right location for healing is at home.

If your care team decides that home is the best option for you when you are discharged, you may see many benefits:
•    Lower risk of falls because you know your home environment
•    Comfort being in a familiar place
•    Less loneliness, as you will be surrounded by those you know and trust
•    Healing at home will help you become independent more quickly
•    Healing at home is empowering, because you take the lead in your own recovery

Remember, every patient and every stay is unique. Not all patients will be discharged home, and some patients who are discharged home may be discharged to a different location, such as a rehab facility, after a future inpatient stay.
