Conference Description

Join us for an engaging day of continuing medical education focused on the latest clinical updates and practical strategies for caring for children and adolescents. This interactive program features expert-led presentations addressing common clinical challenges, emerging evidence, and evolving best practices across the spectrum of pediatric care.

Participants will gain valuable insights into current vaccine recommendations and effective approaches to addressing vaccine hesitancy, the evaluation and management of pediatric allergic conditions, and practical behavioral management techniques through an interactive case-based session. Additional presentations will explore the assessment of the tired pediatric athlete, recent pediatric clinical and practice guideline updates, the benefits and risks of medical cannabis use in adolescents with an emphasis on harm reduction, comprehensive gynecologic care for adolescents, and the recognition of unusual nutritional deficiencies in children with autism spectrum disorder and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).

Designed to provide immediately applicable clinical knowledge, this Pediatric Teaching Day will equip healthcare professionals with evidence-based tools to improve diagnosis, counseling, and management while enhancing the quality of care delivered to pediatric patients and their families.

Intended Audience

This educational activity is designed for pediatricians, family medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, residents, fellows, medical/nursing students, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. The program is also appropriate for clinicians seeking to enhance their knowledge of current evidence-based pediatric practice, improve diagnostic and management skills, and stay up to date on evolving clinical guidelines and emerging issues affecting pediatric and adolescent health.

  4. Incorporate practical behavioral management techniques into clinical practice to improve patient interactions, family engagement, and outcomes for children with behavioral concerns.
  5. Recognize the causes and evidence-based evaluation of fatigue and decreased performance in pediatric athletes, including appropriate diagnostic workup and return-to-play considerations.
  6. Evaluate the indications, potential benefits, risks, and harm reduction strategies associated with medical cannabis use in adolescents.
  7. Apply current recommendations for preventive and comprehensive gynecologic care in adolescent patients, including screening, counseling, and management of common gynecologic concerns.
  8. Identify atypical presentations of nutritional deficiencies in children with autism spectrum disorder and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
