Medical Grand Rounds - "Anxiety Disorders for the Primary Care Physician"

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- List the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and describe the major clinical features of the major Anxiety Disorders: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Separation Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobia, Substance-Induced Anxiety Disorders, and Anxiety Disorders Due to Other Medical Conditions.
- Identify the four components of anxiety and describe their involvement in the symptomatology of the major anxiety disorders.
- Describe how to screen patients for each of the major anxiety disorders, using validated probe and follow-up questions derived from standardized diagnostic interviews.
- Describe the evidence-based treatment modalities that have been found to be effective for each of the major anxiety disorders.
